The
As part of our general practice, we are confronted with a wide range of clinical pictures and health issues.
The most common clinical pictures include the following.
The
Diseases of the muscular, skeletal and connective tissue system
The most common group of diseases in German medical practices are diseases of the muscular, skeletal and connective tissue system. This in turn includes the most common clinical picture in the area of “diseases of the spine and back”. Many patients complain of back pain - more than 20 million patients with back pain are treated annually. The cause is often anomalies in the posture or damage to the intervertebral discs, as a result of which muscles or nerves are stressed or damaged.
The
Respiratory diseases
Respiratory diseases rank second in the list of the most common diseases. The most common diagnosis here is acute upper respiratory tract infection, as is common with a cold.
Asthma and bronchial diseases are also among the clinical pictures that we treat in this area.
The
Endocrine, nutritional and metabolic diseases
The endocrine system of the human body produces hormones that regulate various functions of the body, such as metabolism as well as water and electrolyte balance. Endocrine disorders include diseases of the so-called endocrine organs, such as the thyroid, adrenal glands and pituitary. Typical symptoms are hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, adrenogenital syndrome, hirsutism, Cushing's syndrome and acromegaly.
The diseases in the area of nutrition and metabolism are often referred to as widespread diseases. The cause is malnutrition or overweight foods that are high in fat. Diseases as a result of this are, for example, diabetes or an elevated cholesterol level (hypercholesterolemia).
The
Cardiovascular diseases
The spectrum of these clinical pictures ranges from heart failure to coronary heart disease to heart attacks. The most important clinical pictures in this area include high blood pressure (hypertension) and diseases of the veins. In particular, high blood pressure, where blood pressure values are above the norm, is widespread with up to 30 percent of the population. Lack of exercise, unhealthy diet and obesity coupled with stress are often the causes here. The general practitioner has a special responsibility for early detection and prevention.
The
Psychological problems and behavior disorders
One of the most rapidly increasing clinical pictures in recent years is patients with depression, anxiety disorders and psychoses. Sickness due to mental illness has been increasing for over 10 years. The causes here are increased stress from society and the world of work. In particular, a connection between chronic stress at work and depressive illnesses is found.
